Time to act for Oceans in the 2030 Agenda: collaborative partnerships for SDG 14

September 3, 2016 @ 17:00 - 19:00

Aiming at generating innovative ideas and practical ways forward to achieve the SDG 14 on Oceans, the workshop considered how are governments, civil society, businesses and communities delivering on the SDG 14? How are they addressing trade-offs between SDG 14 aspirations and other goals? What are the key elements of success at all levels that will make it possible to achieve progress towards the 2030 Agenda, and in particular, the goals and targets of SDG 14? Jake Rice delivered a keynote address stressing that SDG 14 is important, but it is even more important to consider the role of the ocean in many of the SDGs (for example SDG 2 on Food Security) and planning for all the inter-related SDGs should be done in a coherent  way.
