• What is the main goal you would like to achieve as Co-Chair of the Arctic Working Group?
  “Main purpose would be to generate more knowledge on different Arctic issues within the European Parliament, but also to raise the awareness and ask for action in the Commission and other EU institutions.”

 

• If you had to choose one specific issue that you think needs to be primarily tackled during this parliamentary term, what would it be? And why?
  “Arctic  is mainly seen from the climate change point of view, but with the warming climate come geopolitical changes. I would like to see the European Parliament to concentrate for the first time also on the geopolitical and geo-strategic challenges the Arctic is facing, even by starting with an AFET report on the Arctic.”
